The National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS) ¡ª part of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) ¡ª has awarded Monica A. Perez, PT, PhD, with the intensely competitive and prestigious R35 grant to create breakthroughs in spinal cord injury science and therapy.

Dr. Arun Jayamaran, executive director of the technology and innovation hub at Shirley Ryan ¹ú²úÉ«Çé and Dr. Elliot Roth, an attending physician at Shirley Ryan ¹ú²úÉ«Ç顯s Brain Innovation Center, were quoted in a New York Times article on a study investigating the use of electrical stimulation to the spine to help people who have experienced stroke regain some movement in their arms and hands.
